How Do I Find These Ads?

From an AOL Search:

Yeah Baby

12-0, CHAMPIONSHIP GAME ON MARCH 4, 2005.

Yes, tonight we continued our winning streak. 12 games in a row... out of 12. We once again played the Lions. This time they were the ones with a shorthanded lineup like we had the first time we played them. Still, they came out much stronger than either time we've played them before. The score at the end of the first quarter was 4-4. It was crazy. Both teams were applying intense defense, and the easy shots just weren't falling. Finally we picked up the defense, started running the fast breaks like we love to do, and they got real tired real fast. Final score was 54-35. We'll play the championship game in a week against one of two teams... Both which we've beaten of course. It'll either be Going The Distance, who we beat by 34 on February 10, or UBC, who we beat by 23 on February 13. Coming in to this season, I never expected to be undefeated going into the championship game.

In other news, I guess my time of not giving a shit about girls is coming to an end. Little things keep happening that keep pushing me to want something again. Ironically, Bohlen's cousin (whom is apparently not bad looking [I haven't seen her], but below my age limit - she's 15), has a big thing for me. Too bad she's too young I suppose. There were a few hotties in Culver's Restaurant too.

I had to drive my car today to get the oil changed for when I sell it. Besides just getting that done, I drove it out to Best Buy to let it run a little and to get some of the fuel injector cleaner going through it. It was nice to drive with that sound system again, but after driving my truck for almost 2 weeks, THE BEAST BLOWS!! Still, it was a great car (for the most part) before the truck (Blue Streak) came along. Part of me will miss it.

Weekend Outlook: Gotta freakin work 7-4 to start it off. I dunno what's goin down on Saturday night, but I'm thinking it'll just be a night to chill out, hopefully get InsideAceJr up to date, play some NBA Live, and get to bed to catch up on sleep. I'm off Sunday, so I'll sleep in before going to that Academy Award/Oscar party with Austin since he won tickets from a local radio station. Should be entertaining.

The Playoffs Begin

Tonight, our team, Northside, heads into the CYO/PHS League playoffs ranked number 1 with an 11-0 record.

Our first opponent: The Lions, our rival Lanphier team. We've played them twice already, beating them by a single point the first time and winning by 30 the second time.

Third time is the charm... But for whom?

And So It Begins...

28 and a half hours this week. 4-9 tonight. 4-10 tomorrow. 4-10 Wednesday. 4-8 Thursday. 7-2:30 Saturday. Bleh. I'm looking at about 43 hours on this pay period, which will be nice and much needed. First full coverage car insurance bill is due on March 9 and first truck payment is due on March 14. It'd be nice if they were a little more spread out...

No days off until Friday. Got a basketball game that night. First reports indicate we'll be playing the Lions, our rival Lanphier team, for the third time. The first time we won 47-48. Then, when they were pissed and talking more trash than ever, we blew them out 37-67. Now, here in the playoffs, we'll meet again...

InsideAceJr is so far behind it's not even funny. How did I let it get like this again? I was doing so well! Might be able to catch up tonight, but I'm not making any promises.

Great Simpsons episode last night. Review soon?

Pretty good NBA All Star Weekend too.

Random Bonfos For 2/19/05

I gotta be gettin to bed! Had a really cool day though, unfortunately it's 12:43 and I gotta work at 7. Hah bumbug.

The truck freakin' rules.

I'm a bit behind on InsideAceJr... About 3 weeks to be exact, lol. Actually it's not quite that long yet. I don't think so at least.

I hammered out my poker article for newspaper today. The head of the english department of our school said I'm a great writer, which isn't a compliment she just throws around. I've known her for about a month and a half now, so I must be heading in the right direction. Too bad I haven't been in newspaper longer.

There's more, but you know what? I'm freakin exhausted and still gotta work. Then I'm off Sunday, no school Monday, but I work Monday through Thursday, then Saturday. 28.5 hours. A few more than I asked for, but I gotta consider the possibility of getting off early (which is still really rare). Plus I'll have my first car payment due on March 14. $251.30 (or so) just disappearing out of my account. Insurance is due on March 9. Hmmm.... This is gonna suck for the next five years, lol. Still, I wouldn't change it for anything... Except for maybe a free Dakota or Dodge Viper...

Got some info on our basketball Comeback thingy tonight. Since we came in first place overall in the regular season, we'll be awarded with a trophy or something. The tournament/playoffs start next week. Since we came in first, we are guarunteed two games while every other team will be under single elimination. Sweetness. We'll play Friday, February 25 and Friday March 4, times and places to be announced.

Guhnight.

Catchin' Up A Bit (Again)

The Comeback Tour - 11-0. That's right, we won both of our games last week. Our first game was Thursday, which was a typical win. Blowout by 30+ points. We were supposed to play our final regular season game on Friday, but it was moved to Sunday afternoon. We won that one big time as well. Bring on the tournament....

I GOT MY TRUCK!!! It's everything I had imagined and so much more. Full report later if I could ever find the time to update InsideAceJr. It's over a week behind now damn it!

Had the "Hot Date" for The Roar on Sunday after my game. Interesting. It made for a good article, especially with how I wrote it. It'll be interesting to see Leanna's perspective as well. I think I'm gonna have to wait until the newspaper actually comes out cause she wouldn't let me read it today. Now I just have the poker article to write.. Yay.

My cutback on soda has been pretty successful so far. The hardest part is the weekends and going out to eat. Water is nasty and will lose every battle to soda, regardless of any cutback.

I gotta work 5-9 tonight, then 5-10:30 tomorrow, then 7-2:30 Saturday. I can't wait till Thursday so I can have some time to drive my truck around town. I've driven it on the highway a lot (back from just south of Chicago), a little in town, and to school in back. Got a couple of work trips ahead of me.

Now we've got 6 freakin' vehicles here and no room. We have my dad's new Nissan Titan, my mom's Mercury Villager, my dad's Honda motorcycle, my dad's Ford Ranger, my Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, and my Dodge Dakota SLT. We don't have the room for this shit, especially with all of us coming and going so much. Lots of rearranging has to be done just for one person to leave. We need to get rid of my Olds and my dad's Ford. That'll fix it... Although I still say my truck belongs in the garage over my mom's van, simply because it's newer and in much better shape. Plus, my truck isn't a van!

I can't think of anything else.

Big Extended Weekend Preview

Thursday, February 10 - Had a half day of school today. Our 10th game of the season is tonight at 9. From what I've heard, if we win this one, we clinch first place.

Friday, February 11 - No school! That means I'll be doing some sleeping in... Game 11, which could be the last one since I still haven't heard any confirmed info about playoffs, is at 8.

Saturday, February 12 - No work, not yet at least. I wouldn't mind getting some extra hours, even though I want the sleep.

Sunday, February 13 - Work 6-2. That means I gotta get up at like 5:45 AM. Horrible. At night I'm supposed to go on the "Hot Date" for our school newspaper. That means dinner and a movie.

Monday, February 14 - Like I said, to hell with Valentine's Day. I'm gettin my truck!! Unfortunately, that means I gotta miss school.

Batsnacks

Best fruit snacks ever!!!

Damn Hiccups

I've had the hiccups for about an hour now. Every single hiccup pisses me off more than the last one. Then just when I think they're gone... BAM! I should do my first audio-post like this, lol.

Anyways... I'm about to write the entry for February 7 on InsideAceJr.

You might've noticed a change in the picture on the homepage of InsideAceJr. Yeah, that's a different truck. Not much different, but different. Mostly the same though. The first one was sold despite the dealership telling us it would be held. Oh well. This new one has 40,000 less miles.

And this time it's confirmed. February 14. Fuck that Hallmark-Invented-Holiday. February 14 is Curt-Gets-His-Dream-Truck-Day.

InsideAceJr Recap for 1/31 - 2/6

Time to look back at the past 7 entries on InsideAceJr, January 31 through February 6 (freshly typed!!!).

January 31 - Added some work days and called the dealership that has my truck. Made the first big step towards getting it...

February 1 - School, work, and hey, 22 songs covered by Def Leppard!!!!

February 2 - Went on a little campus visit to the college that I'll attend for 2 years before heading down to Southern Illinois University. In even more Lep news, the new best of CD set will be called "Rock Of Ages - The Best Of Def Leppard," which came as a big relief to myself and many other Lep fans that lived in fear of "Super Vault."

February 3 - Asked to a prom... But still, Bumblebeetuna 38.

February 4 - Wrote my first article for the school newspaper. Turned out pretty well, showing signs of breaking out of my writer's block. Our basketball team Northside had our 9th game of the season in "The Comeback Tour." It was close, but we pulled it off. Must Read for basketball fans.

February 5 - Back to work. There's a bit about a strange occurance that I've never had happen to me before in over two and a half years working there. Strange, strange man...

February 6 - The slowest night at work I've ever gone through! There are a couple of pictures in there though.

Review: The Simpsons S16-E8

Ah yes, a reason to watch Fox on this Sunday, February 7. The Simpsons of course!!!

Since there was some kind of little football game before this episode aired, the game and this episode were kind of connected.

Long story short, Homer had to plan the Super Bowl half time show.

Great episode. I don't know what else to say besides the fact that we actually got Comic Book Guy's last name!!!

Rockets Are Geddon It

I'm sittin here watching the Lakers - Rockets game, since the Rockets are my favorite team. Rockets are winning.

Suddenly, what's that riff I hear in the background in the arena? Sounds familiar...

It was "Armageddon It."

Can't go wrong there!

Go Rockets!

See? Super Blow Sunday and I'm watching basketball, lol.

Super BLOW Sunday

Yep. It's that day.

I don't give a shit about the Super Bowl. I've watched maybe 2 or 3 Super Bowls in my life. I'm one of those people that looks out for commercials.

I'm sick of all the hype over the game. Especially since this year turned into a big trash talk frenzy. I can't wait till this is over with... And by that, I mean over with to the point where the post-game-analyzation is over too. Watching Sportscenter last night was a nightmare. I just wanted to see some basketball highlights. Wasn't easy. There would be 10 minutes of Super Bowl shit, then 2 minutes of basketball, then 10 more minutes of Super Bowl shit, and so on. Just let the teams play and whoever plays better wins! Why over-analyze this shit? It's a damn game!!

I was originally off today, but earlier in the week I added three days to my schedule. Tonight is one of them. So I work 5-10 on Super Blow Sunday. It's probably gonna be a slow night for the most part. I don't expect it to be though, since any time that it logistically should be a slow night, we generally get our asses kicked.

Biggest disappointments about working tonight? Missing the commericals, including a spot for Batman Begins that could even have some new footage. Plus, I'll miss the new episode of The Simpsons, airing right after the big game.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, this truck thing is still driving me nuts. I sometimes find myself sitting here, staring at a picture of it, wondering what it will feel like to drive this truck that I've wanted since driving first hit my mind. The wait for the auto loan info is the worst part. It's the only thing that separates me from this truck. I'm really hoping it comes tomorrow so we can go get this truck Tuesday. If not, the usual bullshit will take place and it'll come just as my parents leave for a vacation.

Michael has posted his first audio post. It's a cool idea. I'd like to do a few, but I really don't want to overuse the feature. I think I'll sign up for it for if a situation comes where I'm not home and something happens that I want to post right away. Besides, the trip to get my truck would be nice to audioblog, as well as a post about the basketball games right afterwards would be cool too. Unfortunately, there are only 2 confirmed games left.

Speaking of that, the game on Friday was another close one... Although that isn't evident by the final score, 74-52. We came out a little rough, not taking care of the ball, not hitting shots, and the other team came out making every shot they took, most from the perimeter. We finally got some control in the second quarter after being down by 11, which was the most we've ever been down by. We made a little comeback by halftime and changed our defense in the third quarter to shut down the other team's offense. We then started getting constant fast breaks to build on the lead consistently. By the last 2 minutes of the game, the other team had given up. I put up 9 points, 8 in the second half, to go along with a lot of assists and rebounds. Back to back games later this week, Thursday and Friday.

New Article Assignment

I still haven't come up with anything for my own article.

However, I have been assigned a new one, and I'm not happy about it.

Poker. The biggest fad to slap us all in the face since the Macarena. I can't stand the game. The fact that it's saturated every market out there is even worse. You can't look anywhere without seeing something that promotes poker playing. Hell, there's a TV series based on poker and all the "drama." Bullshit.

And of course, this stupid game gets lumped in with sports somehow. Poker is not a sport, yet it's on ESPN and my article will go in the sports section of our newspaper. Again, BULLSHIT. And yes, I know, ESPN also covers shit like pool, which is also not a sport... It's still more of a sport than poker, which only requires the ability to hold a straight face, know a few combinations, and being able to sit on your ass for an extended amount of time. At least pool requires a sense of aim and some movement.

So how will I handle this article? I think if I write it how I want to write it, it'll be shot down and I'll have to re-do it. Yeah, censorship, but with this stupidass paper, you can't have your own opinions, you have to write about someone else's (Mrs. Huffman's, pretty much). Best example was Andy's "The Way I See It" article that had to be cut out of every issue of the newspaper a few months ago because Mrs. Huffman thought it would offend the cheerleaders. Big fuckin' deal! Now I'll probably offend poker players by tearing down the fad, so it won't even make it.

Right now, what I think I'll do is write two versions. I'll write one the way I want to. I'll turn that in first to see what happens. Then I'll write one that kisses the GAME'S ass and promotes it. That'll be the back up for if (WHEN) the first one gets rejected.

Fuck poker.

Many Random Bonfos For 2/2/2005

Got a little bit of catching up to do, lots of news in the past few days.

Biggest news for me is that I am getting that nice blue ("Intense Blue") truck. An exact date is unknown at this point, but hopefully it's soon. Very soon. Extremely soon!

The Def Leppard world has suddenly sprung to life, revealing not 14, but 22 cover songs that have been recorded as well as information on the US release of the Best Of, now titled Rock Of Ages - The Best Of Def Leppard. Thank God it isn't "Super Vault!!!" As for the covers, from what I know out of the 22, sounds all good to me. I was surprised to see a couple of the tracks, such as the Blondie tune that might have been released in 1981, as well as the Tom Petty and Police songs. No complaints though!

Look for a short spot for Batman Begins during the Super Bowl. I'm not a football fan, so if I even watch the game, it'd be to see this spot. The spot will probably show up online right afterwards anyway.

Today when I went to cash my check, I took a little bowl of change with me to add to my account. Turns out there was $54.40 in there. Nice!

Looks like it'll be me and Leanna doing this months "Hot Date" article for the February editoon of "The Roar," Lanphier's school newspaper. Better be a good movie.. And I better have my truck by then!! (Current date - February 13)

Johnny Carson, 1925-2005. A huge loss for the entertainment world. Just think of all the celebrities we know and love today that we might not have if it weren't for Johnny. I hope some of you saw Conan's tribute. It was my favorite.

Went on a campus tour of Lincoln Land Community College today. This is where I'm going for 2 years to get my basic credit hours. The difference between a class tour and a private tour is amazing.

Still no siting of the Hysteria - The Def Leppard Story DVD.

Work 5-10:30 tomorrow, 9-4 Saturday, and 5-10 Sunday. So much for the weekend off, but I do have a big new payment around the corner.
